The EMD SD 70 ace

The EMD SD 70 ace is part of the SD 70 series of diesel-electric locomotives produced by Electro-Motive Diesel in response to the GE Dash 9-44CW. Production commenced in late 1992 and since then over 5,700 units have been produced; most of these are the SD70M and SD70MAC models.

It is used commonly on lots of trunk line railroads. The SD stands for "special duty"because it is mostly used for long distance runs, trips, and heavy duty operations.
